CAB and mics
The guitar cabinet used for this collection is a German-made 1*12 cabinet, ported, and front-loaded with a 12 inches K-100 speaker (8 ohms). This speaker is quite versatile and supports many different applications…. Of course, it can provide great high-gain tones for rock and metal. Its upper register is less aggressive and less abrasive than the V30 and -IMHO- it is easier to work with. Famous users of this speaker includes Mick Thomson from Slipknot. Also used by Diezel in their 412 cabinets (as an alternative to V30’s) to pair with their high-gain heads.

- The preamp used is the “solid state preamp 2”, using an emulation of a 1084 console
- Capture based on a German 112 cabinet loaded with a 12 inches K-100 speaker, 8 ohms
- 4 dynamic mics, 1 condenser mic, 86 IR files in WAV format, downsampled to 44,1 kHz
- Using updated publication format : 24 bits / 100 ms
- 5 microphones :
- DYN-57 : classic 57 tone
- DYN-US-8: powerful and scooped
- CND-AU-1 : solid and articulated condenser microphone tones
- DYN-421 : provides an alternative to the SM57, and surprisingly a little bit less aggressive than the 57 in this configuration
- DYN-US-6 : for very aggressive tone

- Recorded with class-D amp, « Gen4 » settings
- LC45 : low-cut at 45 Hz was engaged
Samples

- Nadir (loaded with K-100 IRs)
- Helix Native : Reverb on some samples, stereo widener

Works really, really well on its own (imo it’s perhaps even better than T75 for getting THAT 80’s tone) and as a blend for the Vintage 30 (making an even more chunkier and aggressive tone with its extended low end and emphasis on 2kHz area)
