CAB and mics
The guitar cabinet used for this collection is a German-made 1*12 cabinet, ported, and front-loaded with a 12 inches T-75 speaker (8 ohms). This collection is a re-issue of previous collections with GEN4 capture settings and the “SSP-2” preamp. Expect better quality and beefier low-end.
- Check the IR positions explanation here : https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/irdownloads/ and here : https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/2020/07/30/home-studio-upgrade-and-2nd-gen-irs/ and https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/2021/07/18/overdriven-fr-free-irs-gen3-launch/
- The preamp used is the “solid state preamp 2”
- Capture based on a German 112 cabinet loaded with a 12 inches T-75 speaker, 8 ohms
- 2 dynamic mics, 2 condenser mics, 1 ribbon mic, 32 IR files in WAV format, downsampled to 44,1 kHz
- Using updated publication format : 24 bits / 100 ms
- 5 microphones :
- DYN-57 : classic 57 tone
- CND-M3 : M3 microphone, the T-75 gets less scooped and less boomy
- CND-AU-1 : solid and articulated condenser microphone tones
- RBN-160 : ribbon tone, captured in the brightest spots for this cab/speaker
- DYN-906 : alternative to the 57, a little bit less scooped and less aggressive
- For microphone information, positions and file names explanations, please check : https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/irdownloads/
- Recorded with class-D amp, « Gen4 » settings
- -LC suffix : low-cut at 45 Hz was engaged, bringing less bass and more clarity and balance to the capture
