Welcome !

Welcome to this page dedicated to the Ampero II Tone Catch system from Hotone. You will find tone catch and presets download links, Internet links and resources as well as Tone catch / overdriven.fr IRs associations, mainly from the Tone Catch that I capture and share on https://community.hotone.com.  I will also add usage recommendations for my models as well as some details on the captured amps.

Tone Catch models

Hotone introduced the Tone Catch system on its Ampero II devices at the end of 2024 : it is similar to the capture systems proposed by Kemper or Neural DSP and allows to recreate the sound of amps, pedals and complete rigs including pedal(s), amp, cab and microphone. The Tone Catch system was originally made available on the Ampero II and Ampero II Stage and was also ported to the Ampero II Stomp. I am using an Ampero II Stomp to capture and test the tone catch(es) that I share. All overdriven.fr captures are created from actual gear, not plugins or other modelers.

I am reusing here my Kemper naming schemes with the Tone Catch system:

  • SP-XX : Studio Profile, an amp+cab or pedal+amp+cab tone catch
  • AP-XX : Amp Profile, an amp DI (or a pedal+amp DI) that you can associate with an IR or an Ampero Cab block.

All the profiles I will share on the Hotone community are using an ODN (OverDriveN) prefix in their names. Some demos of IR associations for DI only models are available on this page : most of the times, these IRs come from the freely available Overdriven.fr IRs (you can access the download page here : https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/irdownloads/) and either download links will be provided or an alternate package download from overdriven.fr including the IRs used in the presets.

7606 Tone Catch

These captures are based on my P.V. 6505 amp, using a custom preamp set of tubes. This iconic amp is more versatile than it seems and is capable of great hi-gain tones but also very interesting clean and crunch tones.

7606 Pack-1

This is the first pack that I created for the Ampero II. It contains 5 presets and use 4 tone catch and 1 custom IR.

The tone catch information are presented in the table below :

The A41-2-7606 AP-1 001.prst uses an overdriven.fr IR that you will find for free download here : https://overdriven.fr/overdriven/index.php/de-112-12-65-class-d-home-studio-edition-free-guitar-cab-impulse-responses-download/. The specific IR used by this preset is : OD-E112-G65-DYN-US-8-P12-70.wav. Alternatively, you can disable the IR block and enable the Ampero Cab block on the preset.

The 7606 SP-3 DRIVE preset is based on the 7606 SP~3 P50 preset, using a capture of the clean channel amp : this presets stacks one enhancer and 2 overdrives to bring the clean channel into crunchy/overdrive tone.
