January 3, 2021 : a new free guitar cabinet impulse responses collection is available. The guitar cabinet used for this collection is the “UK-112” cab, rear-loaded with a Jensen® Tornado Stealth 65 speaker (8 ohms).

This speaker has a very interesting tone and is definitly in the “British” tone family of speakers. It has a low-end similar to a Vintage 30, has a little bit more mids (sounds a little bit more honky, as it has a small spike around 600-650 Hz) and has a slightly relaxed treble section, very smooth compared to a V30. These small differences produce a very different feel : if you are mainly using V30’s, revisit your amp or pedal settings and eventually cut a little bit the 550-650 Hz area. This speaker, while smooth, is capable of a lot of clarity and supports very nicely heavily saturated tones.

This collection is recorded with a solid-state preamp and contains 7 dynamic microphones, 2 ribbon microphones and 1 condenser mic, for a total of 98 IR files in WAV, 44 kHz format.
