CAB and mics
The guitar cabinet used for this collection is the « German-112 », front-loaded with a 12-65 speaker (8 ohms). The previous collection using this speaker was recorded with a KT-88 power-amp. This time the configuration uses a neutral class-D power amplifier and this collection provides a more transparent tone, less scooped, resulting in a more faithful tone rendering of the speaker. Paired with this cabinet, the 12-65 gives a nice and aggressive growl : as usual, revisit your treble/presence/gain setting to adapt to the colour of this speaker. It provides very solid tones for metal and rock and the more I play it, the more I become a big fan of this speaker’s tone….

- The preamp used is the “solid state preamp 1”.
- German 112 cabinet
- Capture based on a Celestion® G12-65 speaker, 8 ohms
- 4 dynamic mics, 1 ribbon mic, 78 IR files in WAV 44 kHz format
- 5 microphones :
- DYN-57 : classic 57 tone, quite bright with this speaker/cab
- DYN-US-8: quite scooped
- RBN-CN-2 : lots of tone options, from dark, to balanced and even relatively bright
- DYN-AT-2 : this mic for drum kick present a massively scooped tone with huge bass
- DYN-421 : interesting alternative tones to the 57, with more bass
- Recorded in home studio conditions
- Recorded with a class-D power amp, with flat settings
