In a YouTube video posted on October 2nd on the Kemper Amps Official channel, the Kemper team\u2014in an impromptu exchange at its booth at the 2025 Guitar Summit trade show in Mannheim\u2014lifts the veil on the evolutions of its profiling technology, an evolution announced with the launch of the MK2 hardware earlier this year. This iteration of the capture system is named \u2014for the moment\u2014 \u00ab\u00a0Profiling 2.0.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this video, Christophe Kemper discusses with the team about the developments and improvements to the brand’s profiling system and reiterates that one of the company’s main objectives with this update is to offer a more accurate system, particularly with greater precision in the bass area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a brief summary of the information shared by Kemper during this exchange:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The capture approach remains identical to the previous system: the Kemper unit sends and receives the audio signals (so not an external audio interface), which is wired as in the currently available system. This approach allows Kemper to represent gain and input sensitivity accurately, and it has been the approach used since the beginning…<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Profiling 2.0 no longer requires a refining phase (indeed, this option is not available anymore in the 2.0 capture process).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Both Profiling systems will coexist and be available: the user chooses the capture type -\u00ab\u00a0classic\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a02.0\u00a0\u00bb- at the beginning of profile creation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • In Profiling 2.0, part of the model calculation is handled by your Mac or PC running RigManager. Capture data will remain stored on the Mac\/PC for future use (future system iterations ?)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Version 2.0 supports Liquid Profiling and introduces a new control to adjust the cab resonance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It will be possible to capture profiles from the Kemper Player, with some limitations, such as performing A\/B comparisons during capture (which will require you to switch cables back and forth, as the Player only has a single input).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
